I have had the pleasure of teaching in the elementary classroom for the past nine years with over 17 years of experience working with children in various positions.  I have obtained my Doctorate of Education (Educational Innovation: Curriculum and Instruction), Gifted Endorsement, and have extensive experience carrying out academic interventions and other curricula.  I am able to support early non-readers through readers reading what some may consider fourth or fifth grade texts. My experiences teaching Kindergarten and Second grade were particularly helpful in preparing me to teach first grade seamlessly, recognizing where they're coming from and what I need to prepare them for ahead. I am eager to implement educational strategies into the classroom for optimal learning experiences that illicit both joy and growth.  I enjoy traveling, painting, outdoor activities, and time spent with my friends and family.
